hey guys Guess I should check in here as I am the one who bought S51D from Eric S. Some of you may know that S51D was a sonerai 1 racer known as phoenixbird, hence my sign in....lol I am rebuilding the engine and hope to be in the air before the end of the year. there were some fantastic idea in thre old sonerai.net so I hope we can recapture all of that info back again.

CANOPY PROBLEMS
Someone for what ever reason had opened my canopy and had not properly closed it. A strong wind gust whipped the canopy open and now I can not align the sliding hinge to close it. Any help ideas would be greatly appreciated.

randreader....You might try grabbing the canopy by opposing corners, as if to give it a bear hug, and gently twist it the other way. It will move a 'bit'...hopefully enough...Ed

Raceair thanks for your suggestion, I will try that and let you know if that works. It sure gets frustrating. I am still having some difficulty navigating the new system.

Always loved the idea of water and and airport. Good trip for your Sonerai. -Pete

Pete:
Thank you. When I get to flying the airplane I plan to be on the eastern shore or lower Delaware away from all the controlled airspace.
Was hoping to run into some Sonerai guys at Oshkosh this past summer but only got to see Jeff Lange's airplane and spoke to Ed. Had to get outta Dodge when the rains came Wednesday morning.
... hope to meet up sometime.
The Best!

Jeff and Ed are two of the best Sonerai people to meet for sure. Last year was an effort to have a Sonerai fly-in at Holland Michigan. I am hopeful that it will be and event this year 2012, and that I can make it. If you have the Sonerai.net forum downloaded there was a lot of discussion about it. -Pete
