I live in Oconomowoc Wisconsin
I was building a Sonerai 1 and had the fuselage pretty much complete. I decided to take it out and set it in the driveway next to my retaining wall made of timbers.
I got called in by my wife and kids to eat. It got dark. I ran to the store for a gallon of milk and took my 1-ton cube van. When I got home I decided to back in the driveway so my rear doors are against the retaining wall. (lots of theft these days).
Anyhow, the big steel step bumper is pretty low and I smashed my fuselage. It's not salvageable because it ended up being 4" wide when I was done.
I basically spent 2 months in depression. I'm better now. ;D
Today I started cleaning the garage to start building a new fuselage again. I never even told my wife, I just keep working....you know how that is i'm sure. Fortunately my son is old enough now to take a more active role in building so I guess that's good.
The Sonerai 1 will live, it will fly......I will win! ;D
Nice to be here Mike

Mike......Thanks for sharing your story.. My second sonerai 1 ended up underneath a 100 year old barn that could not take a snow load anymore.... After Awhile, I started building again,,,,Do not look at the whole picture, it is overwhelming. Build one part at a time and hang it on the wall. Someday you will have so many parts on the wall, you will have to bolt them all together and go fly them!! Determination and confidence come back...I have built and flown 4 more airplanes since that winter day with the Super Sonerai 1.......Welcome to the group....Ed Fisher

Yeah, it was quite a shocker.
I was actually thinking of building a different airplane because it seems weird to do it all over again but I can't find a better airplane than the Sonerai 1. I simply love it!

Mike,
There is an upside to your misfortune. You will find that the second time will go much, much faster. You've already figured out all the hard parts. Now you just have to reapply the stuff you've already learned.
You will probably also find that you will do a better job the second time.
