What is the outside diameter of the bottom of the 92mm cylinders? What is it on the 94mm?

Hi Tom, The 92 mm I have measured at 3.780". The 94 mm I have are inside my case, assembled, sorry I don't have that one. I will be pulling the jugs off in the next few weeks to replace the wrist pin C-clips due the possibility that I was sent the wrong ones. If you don't have that number be then, I will get it. Scott R

Tom,
The I.D. of a 92-mm barrel shim on my work bench measures 3.795 inches.

Thanks Ed. The reason I am asking is that I am looking at the possibility of taking my 2180 to 2276, but if that will require machining the case and heads, it won't be worth it to me.

Hi Tom, To make that change, you will have to have machine work done to the case and heads. I will get that number for the 94's when I pull them. Just as I thought I had heard on the S.net, what about keeping the case set up for the 92's and lathe off enough on the 94's to make their base od's 3.780"? Then you only need heads for the 94's and change back if you want to a 2180. Scott R

Scott, that's a viable option. All the heat's up in the top of the cylinder. I'll have to think about that.
