a few months ago,I took my friend Benoit for a few flight in my S2L as a preparation for him to fly his recently acquired S1.then after I flew his S1 in order to make sure all was well for him, he flew this great little plane by himself, and he really liked the feelings he got... last Thursday, I came to Mont Joli to help my friend Bruno with his engine. I built this engine for him in 1999 but it wasn't flown for the last 10 years so the start up was pretty laborious, and the culprit was found to be a leaky intake gasket. There will soon be 3 flying Sonerai in Rimouski Benoit's S1 , Michel's S2L,and Bruno's S2 as Rimouski is only 1:15 Hr flight from my base, my goal is to have these four birds in flight at the same time. with a little luck we should be able to achieve this goal, within the next few weeks, and with a very good briefing, and serious preparation ,a loose formation flight could be feasible... looking forward to this fantastic flight I've been dreaming about for over 10 years now... I'm really doing my best to make it happen... Gaston

That's a worthy goal, Gaston. Sounds like a lot of fun. Of course, we will need pictures!

Good luck with that! It would be a great thing to see. My sister-in-law lives in Rimouski- it is beautiful up there. Maybe I can try to visit you and the others next time I am up that way. Scott

yesterday I flew to Rimouski, and was able to fly in formation with a friend in his S1...the biggest problem was for me to find my friend's bright yellow S1 in the clear sky...
we came pretty close to have a third Sonerai in the sky with us today but a bad mag ruined our day...
next try later this week , weather permitting... a little luck with the timing of weather and 4 pilots and it will happen

let's give it a try here are pictures of the sonerai in Rimouski a few weeks ago... note that I failed to have all four sonerai in the air at the same time... the one without wheel pants didn't fly with the group... Gaston thank you Chuck and others for your help with this issue...

Great picture Gaston! Excellent for us to see SI next to SII. Are yours and the red/white stretch SII? Imagine a Sonerai formation over Oshkosh to rival the VANs' or Bonanza's. -Pete going back to chewing the elephant.
