Guys,
It is unfortunate, but it looks like we are going to have to regroup. Scott put a lot of hard work into Sonerai.net only to have a few bad apples screw it up.
We are going to have to come put with a plan and this site is intended to be a temp until we can figure out what to do next. Please be patient. Its extremely difficult to make a transition of this magnitude.
I will be altering the format of the site early next week. Until then feel free do discuss what we should do next.
Jeff

Sonerai.net was instrumental in directing my interest to this type of experimental. What is evolving right now is unfortunate indeed - especially so since I took possession of a flying Sonerai II only last month. Whatever is done to re-group, my main request would be to make all resources from sonerai.net available again. I'm going to need a lot of guidance the coming months, and sonerai.net was to be my main source of information... Meanwhile I wish all of you a lot of success in establishing a new community repository and discussion platform.
cheers Hans

Hi I'm a former sonerai.net member, rejoining the group I guess after about a year away for various reasons. Bummer to see sonerai.net gone a great resource but thanks to Jeff and the other mods for giving their time and efforts to make sure there's still a good resource out there for builders ;D, hope it grows quickly. Hope I'm not opening a can of worms but what actually happened to sonerai.net? Cheers Jed

Jeff: Let's regroup and let us know how to help.
A pox on the fools who messed this up!

Just a quick update. I have talked to Scott and the database from Sonerai.net is backed up. He is working to figure out how to make it viewable. More updates to come soon.

Man what a bummer, I really liked the old board format and layout. the photo gallery was really great.
I wonder if Scott would be willing to give the back uped site to somebody else to run and administer. It would be a good way of keeping continuity and the good format of sonerai.net. I would volunteer to take over as admin.
Jeff, thanks for jumping in and setting up a temporary home for sonerai members.

Hello everyone, I am new to the sonerai.net community. I have been researching several different types of LSA's for quite awhile and received my Sonerai IILS plans yesterday. I have been wanting to build a LSA for several years. But as everyone knows life has a way of adjusting your priorities, wife, kids, job and what not. Well the kids are grown, wife gave the green light, and the job is working out well (own it now). Anyway I was able to download the archives that have been posted to my MAC and run with parallels (windows XP) and I must admit, I wish I was able to find it sooner. It has so much information that I hope in the future will be able to be accessed. I did get a bit of the background on the end of sonerai.net and hope that the admin. is willing or able to restore the site. It is a first class site, with very valuable information, photo's and articles that are very informative.
Any way back to my Sorenai IILS, I'm excited and yet apprehensive as this is no small task and I know I will have a terabyte of questions and hope there is a good place and ask. Any fee's that need to be charged to start or maintain the site is fine with me, after all it takes a lot of time and some cash to run a site and sonerai.net was very well put together and run site and is worth it.

Welcome bestdoorman!
Building from scratch requires committment - or in my case stubborness. But it is extremely rewarding to complete a part, and eventually assemble the parts you made . . . into an aircraft. The Sonerai is a great aircraft. There are 3-4 out in your region, maybe one of those builders will be in touch.

Welcome Bestdoorman!, I am up in Lander, WY. You have a standing offer if you would like to come over and check out a IIL and ask questions. I have one wing skinned, getting ready to start skinning the second, fuselage just about ready to cover and a 2276 efi that I am hoping to run-in mid Oct. You would also be welcome to use any of the tooling I have for your project. You can email mail me at this same user name, but @ msn.com. Scott R

Thanks for the info and invite. As soon as i finish my planning and tooling phase i will take you up on your offer. I am mostly set up for the welding phase with having a metal fab shop, will just need to add a couple of small things to get rolling. Any idea as to suppliers close to us (Denver) I would have to guess. Carl

All the suppliers in Denver and SLC, that I knew of, are too expensive. I did a bulk order to Dillsburg in PA for my steel and then a bulk order to Airparts for the wing aluminum. In the middle I went through Greatplains for the ribs/spars. I have gone through Aircraft Spruce of the odds and ends that I didn't plan on or used too much. The numbers for Dillsburg can be found in a posting by me on the new build thread. I hope this helps. Scott R
