Does anyone fly a Sonerai with more power than the typically 80 HP engines used. I'm making an engine type change from the Jabiru 2200 engine at 80 hp to the Jabiru 3300 solid lifter engine at 130 hp. I'd like replies about climb and cruise from someone actually flying something similar. My Sonerai is SIILS. Bill

I am installing 150hp on my S2lsthis spring, I will keep the group posted on how that works out. I already have the motor, just waiting on the prop and gearbox.

Does this have anything to do with the motorcycle engine you were talking about a year or two ago on sonerai.net Ohau?..... I think it was a motorcycle engine.

Does this have anything to do with the motorcycle engine you were talking about a year or two ago on sonerai.net Ohau?..... I think it was a motorcycle engine. Its along the same line, Its the same engine as a yamaha R1 engine, with a slightly different tune and no transmission. The weight will be 165 which is for a running motor including all the fluids, radiators, prop, gearbox. I am so stoked the new blade will be ground adjustable giving me lots of room to experiment with the set up. I also built a custom EFIS for the project that links to my acer a500 tablet as my primary flight display. I should be able to control and modify the ecu on the fly. Doing the initial work at the moment on my own vfr flight gauges to interface with my tablet so I can get ride of the steam gauges. Everything on the motor and flight instruments will be on my tablet attached to the passenger seat, charts and maps will also be on the touch screen tablet. Very excited about this project, now if only I could find more time in a day to work on this stuff.
