Hi guys,
I am thinking of changing the cylinder head on the 1835cc. Second ignition might be a possibility. Any recommendation? Why? Thanks

Hi Manu
I bought 3 pairs of 040 heads from GPASC in the last 15 years, and the were very good quality, except for one valve & seat that required TLC
I installed Empi 042 Big valves heads from GPASC a few years ago on my new 2276 and I love them... I'm now building another 2276 for a friend. I chose to install another pair of these Empi heads from GPASC on this engine too and I noted they were very similar to the pair I bought in 2008 but they required a little more work cleaning air passages between fins, but the ports were a little less demanding... BTW chamber is 55cc on these too... This one should fire up this week-end
I'm also rebuilding an Aerove 2180 that was partly turned into a GPASC, 2 years ago after original weird ignition system disintegrated... I now turn it into a complete GPASC with a new GP crankshaft and force one hub... this 2180 came with a pair of CB044 heads that didn't impress me at first sight 2 years ago... and as I had them on my bench a few weeks ago before I sent them at the machine shop, my impression did not improve... Note that there is maybe different stages of these CB 044 heads I saw only one pair of these...
In my opinion GPASC is the way to go,and they offer different heads that may fill your need...
Hope this helps...

Merci Gaston. I guess gp head are the way to go because they are around for so long and dedicated to aviation use. Will continue to investigate but will probably go this way. Manu

Hi Manu
in your investigation, try to get an engine building manual from different supplier, you will find out by yourself who knows best... and visit their web site, you will find even more...
