I am so surprised....nobody said "That's why it is called a HANGER ! ! !" Truth be told the Wright Bros. when they would store their plane would hang it from the rafters, because it had no wheels or because after their flight over the Hudson River that's how they swapped in/out the floatation device, long story short airplanes are forever storaged in Hangers. Back in the 40's, Cubs were used as primary flight trainers for the civilian pilot training program. Lots of Cubs. Locally, they had about 8 Cubs on the field, but only one hangar. They stacked the Cubs by chocking the mains, tipping the tail up and resting the nose in a tire. A row of Cubs with their tails pointed up.
