Hi Group, my Sonerai-II came with a used alternator that was purchased by a previous owner who never got around installing it. It's made by Synchro as are the regulator and rectifier. I believe them to be the parts that were mentioned in one of the Sonerai Newsletters, which would make them a 10A job, see the following picture: On to my question: Before I take the engine off the firewall, how can I validate the condition of this alternator? There are some scratch marks on both the stator (coil shoes) and the magnet ring. The magnets themselves are not loose, they seem to be affixed correctly. Is there a checklist somewhere that allows me to check this device on a workbench? It would be stupid to mount it and then find out that I had better purchased another one... thanks Hans
