Hi all, Maybe I am thinking too much again, but is there a certain angle for the elevator horn to be mounted to the elevator spar? In pictures of other guys work, it looks like the horn is tilted forward a few degrees. Also, while we are on the subject (sort of), are there bolts through the 5/8" tube that connect the leading edges of the horiz. stab.? Right side is welded, but left side? Thanks, Scott

Scott: Take a look at page 13 of the plans: 1. On the lower left side of the drawing is a side view of the elevator horn relative to the elevator spar. It shows the center of the 1/4" hole located 5/16" forward of the vertical centerline. 2. In the top view of the horizontal stabilizers, it shows the 5/8" x .058 tube welded to the RH stabilizer. The leading edge of the LH stab fits into the 5/8" tube. There are two 3/16" holes drilled 1-13/16" on either side of the centerline thru the 5/8" and 1/2" tubes. These holes line up with two short pieces of 3/16" bushing stock welded into the fuselage crossmember, and should be drilled using the bushings as a guide. Two AN3 bolts are used to mount the leading edge to the fuselage. You can then shim the leading edge down to establish the correct trim condition. (Or you can insert a jackscrew trim system to make the trim adjustable in flight.)
