Hi Guys I went to Steve Bennet place on Friday to pick up a new cowling and a 5/8 landing gear for my S2L. and while being around ,I went to the black hills and Mt Rushmore, and rode the bad land... and I found out why they call it bad land...its because if one has to land a plane down there ,it will sure turn into a bad landing...
now in Mitchell SD driving back home...

Ha! It is indeed bad land, Gaston. Difficult to even walk in because it crumbles if you try to climb. Hope you enjoyed the Black Hills. That's a very long way to drive for a cowl and gear, but it sounds like you are making the most of it.
Have a safe trip.

Indeed! Have a great trip Gaston, glad you are keeping your Sonerai. You picked a good time of year to visit...later would be BAD indeed. Peter "the cold hater"

I didn't have the choice of the date... it was now or maybe never... I had only a little rain for a few hours east of Chicago during the first night, and last night around Toronto... the rest of the trip was all sunny but very windy

I believe it was 2001 when I rode to Sturgis from California. Riding through the badlands is awesome! Riding through the parks and seeing the roaming Buffalo was like out of a movie. There is no doubt who has the right of way when a Large male Buffalo stands in the middle of the road. My 800 pound Electra Glide was no match.

Tim that would have put you in Custer State Park. Did you know they have an airstrip there, and a lodge? Its been one of my Sonerai dreams to fly out there, camp, and fish for trout. Got a couple spots in MN where I have done that, but in an Ercoupe. Great fun. Hope you got to ride through the Canyon, past the waterfall, etc. Did that in '07.
