Tailweel spring surface treatment - best practices

Hi Group,

today I received my replacement tailwheel spring, after the previous one decided to break after my tailwheel assy. got stuck in a hole while taxiing.

Is there a recommended way to treat the tailwheel spring surface before installing it?

I powder coated mine to prevent it from corroding.
